The Global Action Week for Education (GAWE2019) My Education, my right(s)

The Global Action Week for Education (GAWE2019) initiated in Kabul through national conference on My Education, my right(s) overreaching “Making the right to an inclusive, equitable, quality, free public education a reality”. The conference participated by more than 200 representatives from President Office, CEO, First Lady Office, Ministry of Education, National and International Organizations and Media on 24th April 2019 at Kabul Star Hotel. As per the position paper released during the conference, we argued government on finalizing SDG4 localization process, SDGs rollout at national level as well as utilizing local resources to gradual reduction of external funding to education sector of the country to meet independent sustainable development.

Linking Sustainable Development Goal 4 and Global Education Framework in New Delhi

Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) organized a study exchange workshop of Linking Sustainable Development Goal 4 and Global Education Framework in New Delhi for the Afghanistan National Education Coalition Organization (ANECO) on 23-25 September 2019. The workshop was organized to:

(1) Set objectives of ANECO for 2020-2021

(2) Define problematic analysis of education system in Afghanistan

Recommendations from Civil Society on SDG 4.3 and SDG 4.4

ANEC representing CSOs active in education sector of Afghanistan in CSO Pre-APMED4 meeting well organized by Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) to provide recommendation on SDG 4.3 envisions “By 2030, ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university.”  And SDG 4.4 aim is “By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.”

Coalitions Reaffirm Their Commitment to Education at Regional Consultation

The Asia Pacific Regional Consultation for Education Advocates created an opportunity for ANEC to engage in informative discussions on pertinent education issues, build their capacities, share their experiences, and highlight their advocacy efforts in Afghanistan. presence of key advocate networks such as regional and global partners, including Africa Network Campaign on Education For All (ANCEFA), Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE), Arab Campaign for Education (ACEA), International Council for Adult Education (ICAE), Global Partnership for Education (GPE), and the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), were beneficial to participants who shared their strategies and plans, providing relevant information to the coalitions to enhance their efforts in favor of right to education and lifelong learning.
